Ivana, Batan Island, Batanes

Serendipity led us to the mountain. With eager expectation we woke very early in the morning and took the jeepney from our inn in Batan to San Vicente port in Ivana, Batanes, where we waited for the pumpboat that would bring the famed island of Sabtang. There lay the promise of stone villages, pristine beaches, and a feast of lobsters.

Going back to another place and time

From the moment you set foot in its quaint airport, it feels like you have traveled back in time to when chivalry and good manners are still the norm and have not gone out of style yet.
